It has been proven that a building is more likely to catch on fire than be broken into. Considering the statistics, there is still an astonishing amount of premises that do not have the appropriate fire detection devices installed and monitored.

There are many types of fire detection devices that can be used to detect fire. Sprinkler/ fire suppression systems are the only way to prevent fires from spreading and actually extinguish fires. Every building should have smoke detectors installed in them offering early detection of fire and life safety for the occupants. Every year we hear of horror stories in the news of smoke detectors that are not operating and lives are lost. In this day and age there is no excuse for that to happen. A monitored smoke detector can offer immediate response so the responding authorities know the exact area where the smoke detector has been activated. Another fire detection device is rate of rise detectors.

Rate of rise detectors are used quite often in commercial or dusty applications. They operate when the device encounters a temperature above the set rate. Rate of rise detectors also react within five seconds anytime there is a rapid increase in ambient factors of 20 ° F.
